Who we are

This website is operated by 24 Customs Pty Ltd (ABN 69 664 150 298), a licensed Australian customs brokerage with offices in Auburn, New South Wales and Brisbane, Queensland. Where this policy says "we" or "us", it means 24 Customs.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you send an enquiry

The enquiry form on our contact page asks for:

Your first and last name
Your email address
A subject line and your message, which usually describes a shipment

We use this to answer your enquiry and quote the job. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone outside 24 Customs for marketing.

When you enquire about joining us

The form on our Join Us page asks for your name, your email address and a note about yourself. We use it to consider you as a partner broker and to get back to you. Every enquiry is treated in confidence.

When you pay an invoice

Our Pay page asks for an invoice number and an amount. Payment itself happens on a page run by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details are entered on Stripe's page and never pass through this website or our systems. Stripe sends us confirmation that the invoice was paid, and sends you a receipt. Stripe's handling of your card data is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.

When you download a document template

Downloading a template from our Free Documents page does not collect anything about you. If you later complete a Letter of Authority and email it to us with identification, we use that only to act as your customs agent, as the law requires, and we hold it under this policy.

When you browse the site

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this website: which pages get read, roughly where in the world visitors are, and whether they arrive from a search engine or somewhere else. It does not tell us who you are.

Google Analytics sets cookies, which are small files stored by your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site works without them.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, as part of running and securing the site.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where we need to:

With the Australian Border Force, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and other agencies, when we lodge declarations on your behalf as your customs broker.
With the service providers who run our systems: our website host, our form handling, our payment processor and our analytics provider.
Where the law requires it.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure anyone handling information on our behalf protects it properly.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and client records for as long as we need them for the purpose we collected them, and for as long as customs and tax law requires us to. When we no longer need information, we destroy it or remove anything that identifies you.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee the security of anything sent to us over the internet, but we treat your information as if it were our own.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you. Email info@24customs.com.au or call 1300 247 019 and tell us what you need. We will respond within a reasonable time, normally 30 days.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to sort it out. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We update this policy from time to time. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
