Letter of Authority
The one-page document that appoints 24 Customs to act as your customs broker with the Australian Border Force, under section 182(1) of the Customs Act 1901.
How appointment works
Before we can lodge declarations on your behalf, the law requires your written authority. The Letter of Authority is signed by a director or authorised officer of the importing entity and covers:
- Authority for 24 Customs Pty Ltd to act as your agent in customs dealings
- Acknowledgement of our terms and conditions of trade
- Payment terms for duty, GST and disbursements we outlay on your behalf
To complete your LOA: download the template, complete it on your company letterhead, have it signed by a director, and email it with a copy of the signatory's photo ID to info@24customs.com.au. We confirm your appointment the same business day — or within hours for urgent jobs.
